Oliver Cellicion (1913–1996) was a Zuni silversmith active since the 1940s, specializing in mosaic inlay. He shared his stamps with his wife Angela Cellicion. He was the brother of Dexter Cellicion and Roger Cellicion, two other documented Zuni silversmiths from the same family.
OCR note: The source scan rendered “Oliver Cellicion” as “OI’ erCellicion” — a known OCR artifact in this corpus. The artist’s name is definitively Oliver Cellicion based on the Hougart entry text and sibling references.
Mosaic inlay is a signature Zuni technique in which precisely cut turquoise, shell, jet, and coral are set in close patterns to create richly colored geometric or figural designs, often with no visible silver between stones.
