# Jimmie King Jr. — Navajo Silversmith

Jimmie King, Jr. (?–2017; Navajo) was active since the 1970s, working in channel and mosaic inlay in silver and gold. He shared stamps with his wife Rita King (see Rita King), making attribution of shared-stamp pieces a collaborative record. The King family silversmithing practice reflects the common Navajo tradition of husband-and-wife workshop collaboration.

He is also connected to Edward King (see Edward King), who worked from about 1950 in jewelry at the White Hogan (mark: J K).

## The Marks

> "Jimmie King, Jr. (?-2017; Navajo). Active since 1970s. Channel and mosaic inlay. Silver, gold. Shared stamps with his wife Rita. Marks: JR (conjoined); JR (stylized conjoined initials; may have six dots formed into an arc); Jimmie King Jr" > — Hougart, Bille. Native American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarks, 5th ed. (2022), approx. p. ~18200.

Three marks are documented: JR (conjoined letters), JR (stylized conjoined initials, sometimes with six dots in an arc), and the full name Jimmie King Jr. Because stamps were shared with Rita King, pieces bearing shared marks cannot be confidently attributed to either artist alone.
