Cordell Pajarito is a Kewa (Santo Domingo Pueblo) silversmith born in 1988. The Hougart record documents his work in tufa cast pieces and mosaic inlay — techniques with long roots among Kewa and other Pueblo jewelers. Tufa casting, in which molten silver is poured into carved volcanic tuff molds, produces distinctive textured surfaces prized by collectors.
Hougart identifies Cordell Pajarito as a son of Anthony Lovato and brother of Joel Pajarito (1984–; Kewa), who also works in tufa cast pieces, pins, pendants, petroglyph designs, and stone sets. Joel Pajarito received a Goodman Fellowship in 2008.
