Carmelo "Pat" Patania (1902–1999) was an Anglo silversmith closely tied to Santa Fe's Patania's Thunderbird Shop, where he worked beginning in 1928. His brother Frank Patania founded that legendary shop, and Carmelo spent decades contributing to its output. In 1959 [OCR: "19S9"], Carmelo opened his own Kachina Shop in Tucson, Arizona, operating it until his retirement in 1980. His mark, "C P," appears on work from across his long career in Southwestern silver.
Heritage Note: This directory records his heritage exactly as the source states it: non-Native maker of Southwestern-style work.
